Meet Tracy
Tracy Longstreth is a musician, painter, and lifelong surfer with nearly six decades immersed in American music. His sound is rooted in jazz, blues, and R&B, with his earliest recordings tied to the surf music craze of the early 1960s.
Beginning with the emerging surf rock sounds coming out of Orange County, California, Tracy’s story follows the people, places, and music that helped shape generations. In 1962, starting with his first band, The Rhythm Rockers, Tracy released his debut album, Soul Surfing—a record that still sells today through iTunes and Amazon storefronts.
During the early ’60s, the legendary Righteous Brothers joined The Rhythm Rockers on stage at the Rendezvous Ballroom in Newport Beach. It was during this era that the sound later known as Blue-Eyed Soul was born.
Tracy’s career continued with the Osmond family, where he played on many of their early hits. This was an important high point in his career that earned him four gold records. Numerous record deals followed, as Tracy toured and performed in every major city across North America.
Over the course of his 60-year career, Tracy has performed with or shared the stage alongside countless musical icons, including Ricky Nelson, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Joan Baez, Diana Ross, Lou Rawls, The Coasters, and many more.
Today, Tracy and his wife Jadwiga reside in Southern California, where he enjoys painting the scenic beauty of the Pacific Ocean and Newport Harbor. After a remarkable six-decade career, Tracy’s journey comes full circle, as he continues to play music with his longtime friends in the beautiful coastal town of Newport Beach.
